Making The Most of Your Kitchen
A kitchen is one of the most important rooms in your home. Think about it, that's where your family gathers for meal-times, where you cook meals to nourish your family, etc.
What if you've got an extremely small kitchen? Or you have a serious lack of cabinet and/or counter space? This can make it challenging for anyone to even WANT to cook in their own kitchen!
For those with very limited counter-top space in their kitchen, it's a good idea to minimize the number of appliances you use regularly. It's not a bad idea at all to invest in "under the counter" appliances, those which mount to the underside of cabinets. This can really save space on your countertops. Although the initial investment is a little more, the space-saving is well worth the money spent.
If you have a lack of cabinet space in your kitchen, this can be really difficult to make sure your cabinets are organized or that your canned goods and dishes are easily accessible. If you find yourself in this predicament, consider "space savers," these are usually plastic or wire "shelves" or baskets that you can insert in your cabinets to double up on actual shelf-space.
If this isn't an option for your kitchen cabinets, then consider an overhead pot-rack for your pots and pans, these can usually be mounted over the stove area or even above your kitchen table. You can also purchase a metal, plastic, or wooden cabinet for your kitchen with doors on it. This can be used in the same way as a pantry would be.
There are many ways to make the most of your kitchen space, regardless of how limited. Use your imagination!
