Indoor and Outdoor Living and Entertaining

''Lifestyle” is a concept that points to a certain way of life. It depends on our welfare, our motivation and what is important to us - regardless if we consider our own interests or that of friends or relatives.
Lifestyle home and garden Lifestyles have always existed and are constantly changing. What was fashionable 20 years ago is now old-fashioned. Who doesn’t have a practical cell phone today? A computer in the office? The digital-way is no longer a luxury and everyone is aware of the latest innovations. Take for example the Internet, an invention unknown to the public a few decades ago.
The Internet is a symbol of a new era. It brings revolutionary ideas and a modern attitude. With the click of a mouse we can make a phone call, send a message, listen to music or go shopping while we are having our breakfast (morning) coffee. Was it possible in the 80’s to pay our bills or check the latest world news in our pajamas? And which Internet user still uses an encyclopedia? Times have changed and bring along a lot more freedom.
Our knowledge grows because of the technological progress. Without traveling we can research remarkable cultures, compare insurance premiums, make travel plans and even find medical help. Borders disappear and our world gets smaller.

With this new way of life come big expectations. On one hand these developments are very positive but on the other hand it leads to the absolution of certain classical customs. Fewer newspapers are sold; postal rates go up because businesses are done via email or fax… even the conventional way of cooking has changed with the sale of microwave ovens, espresso machines or bread makers. Progress cannot be stopped and with each new development another new lifestyle will emerge. So… let’s see what the future has in store for us. (By: Irida Sangemino)

Rain Gardens

Most homes look that much better with a number of cultivated plants in and around them. Homes with attractive landscaping have a higher resale value than those without. So, if by adding a garden, you can add to your home's attractiveness, increase the resale value and get an "eco-friendly" boost, wouldn't you do it? Rain gardens are one of the latest strategies to combat flooding and pollution, and they can be exceptionally attractive.
