I always believe that ones home is ones castle, and in my home creation, I have made a palace fit for royalty. Every part of my house, both inside and out, is tailored to my specific personality. Not only am I proud of my abode when I am entertaining, but my home is still comfortable for living.

Front Entrance: Add grills to your sidelights and transoms. Either paint your front door the same color or get a wood or wood-look door and stain a warm cedar color. Ditch the old screen door and replace it with a Victorian screen door. Re-use centers or salvage yards are great places to find bargains on wood character doors
To really make the area around both the indoor and outdoor fires inviting, I have used the space to decorate for specific holidays. During the winter, I will lay evergreen fir branches on top of the mantle. Outside, I use colored lights to line the walkway out to the fire pit. These can be changed for the season and they make it safer by keeping the path well lit. The two main parts of my home creation are my indoor and outdoor fires. These provide comfort for living and a great gathering place for when I entertain.

I love the cozy comfort of a fireplace. It provides the perfect gathering spot for my friends and family to meet and talk. Sitting in a circle around a fire helps my guests and me get to know each other better because we can talk to each other rather than talk over the volume of the television set. Not only do I have a full fireplace inside my home, but I also have a fire pit in the backyard. This provides enough warmth outside that I can have smaller outdoor parties on milder winter nights.
